COATESVILLE -The Unhoused Veteran Stand Down is Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The event is at the Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320. Veterans experiencing homelessness, the possiblity of eviction or other issues in Chester, Delaware or Montgomery counties are invited to attend.

The Dept. of Veterans Affairs is hosting the Stand Down.

Get help with eviction prevention, emergency housing, health screenings, food and clothing, legal aid, VA enrollment, supplies, VA healthcare & mental healthcare.

Stop by Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP)’s table. LASP’s Veterans Advocacy Project team can discuss VA benefits, discharge updgrades, and a wide array of civil legal services related to eviction, foreclosure, other houing issues, Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders, domestic violence, family law, record-clearing, public benefits, consumer debt and bankruptcy, and more.

The session will help participants learn whether they are eligible to have their criminal records sealed or expunged under Pennsylvania’s Clean Slate law, which expanded in February 2024. LASP attorneys will offer free record screenings and help with completing necessary forms.

Record-clearing helps people improve opportunities for jobs, education, and housing.

If possible, participants should bring a copy of their Pennsylvania criminal record. A completed intake form is also recommended.

WAYNE - The Trial Run 5K is returning for its 20th year! Join us on Sunday morning, Oct. 26, 2025, for a run or walk at Wilson Farm Park to support Legal Aid of Southeastern PA! 

The race will take place at Wilson Farm Park, 500 Lee Road, Wayne, PA 19087. (GPS may say Chesterbrook.) Sign-in opens at 8:15 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. Ample parking is available on-site, and the race begins at the south pavilion, nearest Route 202.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, as well as for the best costume. New! Team Competition Trophy for the law firm with the most runners/walkers who attend on race day! This trophy will be held until next year’s Trial Run 5K.

This event, organized by the Chester County Bar Association's Pro Bono Committee, is part of the #ProBono Month celebration.

A LASP attorney will provide information, counseling and advocacy in a variety of civil legal areas such as:

State Rep. Leanne Krueger will host a free Clean Slate Expungement Clinic on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. at the Brookhaven Municipal Center, 2 Cambridge Road, Brookhaven, PA 19015.

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) attorneys will provide information and discuss options for clearing a person’s criminal record. If expungement is not an option, additional resources will be offered.

Participants can bring their case information, including a copy of court records or orders, and must not be in violation, on parole or on probation.

EXTON - Jump start your job search at the PA CareerLink Awareness Day Resource Fair and Open House at PA CareerLink of Chester County! The event is Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025 at PA CareerLink of Chester County, 479 Thomas Jones Way, Suite 500, Exton, PA 19341.

The Employer Panel at 9 a.m. is a workshop where job seekers can understand first-hand from employers what they are looking for in their new hires.
