Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) invites attorneys to a new consumer law pro bono project.

Accept a Pro Bono Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Case Referral.
For attorneys with consumer bankruptcy experience.
LASP will screen cases & gather key documents.
LASP will help clients complete a bankruptcy questionnaire.
A LASP paralegal will provide support throughout the case.
Volunteers prepare the petition & schedules, file the case, attend the §341 Meeting of Creditors, & guide clients through discharge.
Goal: Help clients increase financial stability & achieve a fresh start.
Advice & Counsel – All Attorneys:
Empower clients to defend against credit card lawsuits.
Open to all attorneys.
LASP will provide training & support.
Meet with client in a 30-minute virtual appointment.
Help client understand the lawsuit.
Identify possible defenses.
Discuss practical next steps.
Goal: Help clients defend against intimidating debt collection lawsuits.

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) will host a virtual CLE for attorneys on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026 from 12-1 p.m. The CLE is free for legal aid staff and attorneys who are wiling to take a pro bono case, or a $20 donation.
