NEWTOWN SQUARE - At the Delaware County Bar Association President's Dinner, Richard A.J. Prebil was honored with an Illumination Award! The dinner took place Jan. 12, 2024 at Aronimink Golf Club, Newtown Square. Congratulations, Richard!

The award is for a lawyer, who, during the previous year, demonstrated devotion and enthusiasm for the practice of law and has been an inspiration to others by demonstrating superior legal skills and other such accomplishments, including charitable endeavors, community service and, most importantly, service to the members of the Delaware County Bar Association.

Richard is the Supervising Attorney of LASP's Veterans Advocacy Project, which he helped to launch in 2020. In presenting the award, 2024 DCBA President Rachael L. Kemmey commented that at the Wills for Heroes clinic, Richard ensured that each veteran was assisted.

From January-December 2023, the Veterans unit obtained more than $1 million in retroactive benefits for low-income clients (specifically, $1,003,838.90). In that same timeframe, the Veterans unit increased estimated lifetime income by $15.87 million.

Since the first decision in 2021 through December 2023, LASP has assisted in obtaining over $1.8 million in retroactive benefits for veterans. Through this and the monthly benefits, the veterans unit has assisted in increasing estimated lifetime income by almost $31.79 million.
