Pro bono volunteers are needed to help with Hurricane Ida cases

(December 2021)

The storm may have passed, but legal problems stemming from Hurricane Ida continue.

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA needs pro bono attorneys to assist low-income survivors in the Hurricane Ida recovery effort.

Specific case types where pro bono assistance is needed include:

  • insurance claims

  • legal problems related to home repair contracts and contractors

The American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, Legal Services Corp., and the Federal Emergency Management Agency are working with LASP to coordinate disaster legal aid, through the Disaster Legal Services program. Since 2007, the program has helped with more than 200 disasters in 45 states and five U.S. territories.
